I have had it with it. It keeps freezing every minute no matter what pages I open. Even the lightest google.com hangs the browser. Had to use Opera instead.

It was working perfectly for 2 weeks with Alsa plugin, but today it refused to work and only switching it to Pulse helped solve the problem. Miracles, only miracles…

Suddenly, I got it working by turning off Sync to VBlank option in General Options -> Display Settings. That is really weird because I tried so many times this option… Anyways, now it logouts, sleeps and restores without any problems.

As I found out yesterday, compiz is by default in Hardy (Ubuntu 8.04), so I did not have to install it. However it causes problems with suspend and hibernate modes. The thing is that I see a blank white screen with a mouse pointer that I can move, everytime I return from sleep, for example. [...]

After I finally got my wireless to work, I realized that it was all useless since after restarting my laptop nothing worked. The fact is that I blacklisted ssb from loading in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist, but it was loading anyways. As I found out later here this is a kernel option, which makes ssb load every time [...]
