Most interesting plugins for Compiz

I finally found a free minute to configure Compiz, so now I am all happy, because it is just amazing. I have lost any desire to go back to Vista. Anyways, here are some of them (in the order they appear in CompizConfig Settings Manager):

ADD Helper simply darkens all inactive windows letting you concentrate on your work in a focused window. I consider it very helpful.

Desktop Cube turns your desktop (you should have 4 workspaces available) into a cube that rotates horizontally every time you change workspaces.

Rotate Cube lets you rotate your 3D desktop cube with your mouse.

Cube Reflection adds a nice reflection to a cube.

3D Windows makes all windows in every workspace hang at a little distance from the workspace they belong to and from one another.

Cube Caps allows you to assign different pictures to the top and the bottom of the cube.

* You can also assign a background which might be animated or not.

Water Effect is amazing and makes your desktop something like a big puddle.

Paint Fire on the Screen is explained by the title, I think. Looks quite nice.

Wobbly Windows deforms windows when you move them.

Animations adds different kinds of effects to different actions you perform on windows. I set it on Random, and every time I do something with windows (minimize, maximize, close, etc.) something different happens. It also applies to pop-ups, tool-tips, prompts, etc.

Window Previews shows little previews for any window on the Taskbar.

There are many different plugins, but they are minor and usually automatically enabled.

the cube is nice but the sphere is way cooler (its an option in cube reflection and deformation). hadn’t tried the ad helper. Thanks for that.
